OT ~ Invitation

Hi Everyone! I want to thank Bonnie for the invitation to Book Buddies! Sorry it took so long to reply but I had computer problems and totally forgot about the invite until Oprah's new book announcement the other day. I went to her site and couldn't believe what a state it was in. It makes me sad. So I decided to respond to the invite and come here and see all of you instead!

Happy to be here. I will come back later tonight and tinker a bit and read some of the older posts to get a feel for things. I was happy to see a lot of names from the old Book Buddies, like Granita! It's been a long time.

Buddy. I'm a Buddy, not a Buddies. I do not have multiple personalities.

But it's prolly a sign that I need to go eat something as I keep putting off dinner until I just get 'just one more thing' done.

Welcome to our new world!

It is great to see familiar names and have a place to discuss books again. Thanks again, Bonnie, for all of the opportunities you have provided for us on other boards and the rescue on this one!

Hi Neco! Thanks for the Welcome. It's good to hear that you are a fairly new Book Buddy and that you aren't a Buddies with multiple personalities. Lol.

Hi Shirley! It's great to see you again! It sure has been awhile. And thank you Bonnie, this is a real nice place. I put this blog in my favorites and one click and I am here! Can't ask for better than that!

Hi Candy,

Good to see you joining us. Multiple personalities could that be me? Sometimes when I am really into reading a book I can sail along and dream, guess that may be part of my problem I get to involved in the characters…LOL…

BSP is a good example of putting me into the mix of characters. Perhaps that is why I was sad, down right discussed with Bruno father. I can not read a book without drawing my emotions into play.

Could I have some feedback on how other buddy feel when they read a book?

Hi Candy! Good to see you joined us here, really nice!

I'm not reading the selections right now, but love to be able to stay in touch with the BBs this way, thanks to Bonnie...

Hi Caboose! Great to see you! However, I must admit I miss your train car with the lantern swinging. When I saw your post that is the first thing that popped into my head. Lol.

I don't think being emotionally tied to a book or it's characters is a bad thing, but it must be hard on the reader at times.

I tend to concentrate more on the plot and any symbolism I find along the way. However, at times I too get emotionally attached to a character here and there. I think it depends on the author.

Hi Margreet! Yes, it is great that Bonnie set this all up so everyone could be in one place. It is very nice and seems to be easy to navigate here.

I am a bit late for the BSP discussion but I was lucky enough to be able to pick up a copy of Cold Comfort Farm and I hope to be able to join for that one.

Books or no books it is still nice to come here to say hello to everyone and catch up.

hi Candy! Welcome Aboard!

I agree with Caboose. I often get emotionally involved with the characters. That's why I like big books. There's more to get involved with. Remember how we all felt about the characters in Anna Karenina?
