Another book suggestion

Anne said, "This [The Other Side of the Bridge] sounds like a interesting book, Bonnie, and different from something that I'd pick out on my own. My suggestion is going to be Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Marisha Pessl. It was one of the NYT's 10 Best Books of 2006 as well as heartily recommended to me by a friend of my mom's. Here's a link to the NYT's review (as I had to get on the site to find out the name of the list): http://www.nytimes.com/2006/08/13/books/review/13cover.html."

Thanks for creating a post for my comment, Bonnie. I think I've got my posting privileges set up now. Might have to give it a test.

lol, I got so excited about being able to suggest a possible book choice since EI won't have to choose new books until next year. I have to say that I love the ease of this site after the troubles with the Oprah site.

Yes, post THIS and I'll delete mine.

Although the approach sounds fascinating, I am going to cast my vote for The Other Side of the Bridge for our first book. Special Topics in Calamity Physics sounds rather deep and at 500 plus pages is quite a book to tackle. I have requested The Other Side of the Bridge from our library and it is available which is another plus for it. I guess I jumped on that book too soon as apparently the book selection is still up for discussion. I'll stay tuned!

Yeah, I didn't realize it was quite so long when I suggest it. I have a copy of the book and it doesn't look that big! Yikes, 500+ pages would be a lot in a month.

Bonnie, I think I'll just leave this post be and post something later on what I'm reading now, intro to me, etc. I've a blogger account and have had several blogs so I'm pretty okay with doing it. Plus, I'm just on briefly so I'm not pulling up my dashboard.

Speaking of briefly, Oprah boards kicked me out after posting up just one of the discussion questions for The Tenth Circle. Ugh!! Just an FYI for those who are in EI. Sorry to post about it here, but I'm FRUSTRATED!

lol, okay, I went and decided I was going to repost this post. But, I don't know how to do pictures. So, I'm leaving it. Final answer.
