Look over the books that have been suggested and leave a comment with your top TWO. Which 2 books would you like us to read and discuss? I hope this will eliminate some because the voting thingy won't let us vote for this many.

I'll vote for two that I think will NOT be heavy reading:
(1) Family Tree
(2) No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency
My two are:
Animal, Vegetable, Miracle ~ by Barbara Kingsolver
And...
Reading Susanna Clarke with a group would be fun, but I think we should save her for maybe Jan/Feb and dedicate two months to her.
So, I will go with The Gilded Chamber, just because I own it and haven't read it.
And, yes, I am still alive. I have just been very very busy lately
I will vote too.
(1)No.1 Ladies Detective Agency
(2) Animal, Vegetable, Miracle
(3) The Gilded Chamber
and
would like to see the Cold Comfort Farm for the December read.
1. Animal Vegatable Miracle- BK
2.Night Journal -EC
(1) Family Tree
(2)The Gilded Chamber
You mention that the Ken Follett is huge, but so is Susanna Clark.
this is hard ...
my two picks are Water for Elephants and Animal, Vegetable, Miracle.
This was hard to me too.
1. Animal, Vegetable, Miracle ~ by Barbara Kingsolver
2. Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell ~ by Susanna Clarke -or- World Without End ~ by Ken Follett
Unfortunately, both of my potential picks for #2 are looong books so I prolly need to choose another book. It would be between March by Geraldine Brooks and Gilded Chamber by Rebecca Kohn. So I'm going to go with:
1. Animal, Vegetable, Miracle ~ by Barbara Kingsolver
2. Gilded Chamber ~ by Rebecca Kohn
I'd like to vote for Night Journal and The Distinguished Guest.
I would like to vote for
1)Night Journal
2)The Gilded Chamber
