My pick

I am honored that so many of you are willing to read a book chosen by me. I propose to read Arthur Japin's "In Lucia's Eyes", the book that made the shortlist for December. I'll leave it to a democratic vote as to when we will read it. I think that Japin is a great writer, and this one I haven't read yet.

Good choice, Margreet! And it should make several book buddies very happy ... since it was their choice for our next book. I propose that we make this book our February selection.

I can't get this one either. Maybe next month.

Okay, I suggest we also let Marg pick something that is available in Australia.

Oh, I like this one! I have to buy all my books, so I tend to be a bit picky, but this one sounds interesting! Might I suggest not reading the Publisher Weekly synopsis. I am not sure if it is the same on all the Amazon sites, but the writing of the one I just read is terrible!

It's fine with me,Bonny. Good idea of letting them pick out their choice.

I also like the idea of letting those who have problems locating books to make the next few suggestions. After that, perhaps we could ask them to check the next proposals for availability before we vote on them. The more participants, the more interesting our discussions are.

I'm sorry you can't get this one Marg. I agree that we'll let you pick a book for the near future.

I think that all the previous ideas are great. Such as let Marg and Margreet pick a book and also that we wait to vote until they can let us know if the books on the list are available or not.

I will read Margreet's pick for February. But seeing that I just finished December's read I think I am going to skip January's so I won't be behind in February.
